spreading the sound

Musicians transcending cultural and geographic boundaries.

Music is a powerful tool for advocacy. Our partner musicians are generously sharing their time and talent to raise awareness and funds for the preservation of the Brazilwood tree and the restoration of its home, the Atlantic Forest.

Harmony and diversity: essential for music, ecology and humanity.

The beauty of an orchestra or a forest arises from the diversity of its parts working together. Diversity is at the core of RAIN's mission. Our partners are finding ways to harmonise together across different cultures because everyone brings something valuable to a collective effort. This strengthens our message and enhances our outreach so we can connect with a wide range of supporters.

This collaboration between an Indigenous tribe, two London orchestras and Miriam Margolyes was featured on Classic FM.

From the streets to the concert hall

Cellist James Barralet is performing a series of Bach concerts in service to our forests. His own life is an incredible story of regeneration, from when his career as an acclaimed international soloist was cut short by illness and mental health challenges, through poverty and busking on the streets of Shrewsbury, and eventually returning to the stage with a completely different agenda in tune with the needs of the planet.

Bridging art and nature: why protect the Atlantic Forest

Originally 3.6 times the size of Germany, now only 12.4% of its natural cover remains.

Over 145 million Brazilians depend directly on this ecosystem.

It's a biodiversity and cultural hotspot housing over 20,000 species and more than 196 indigenous lands.
