Indigenous and classical Music together - with Miriam Margolyes

Good news for the forest this Christmas

As we approach deep winter, we are writing to you to wish you a very happy festive season. In these uncertain times, there is a lot to be concerned about but also a lot to celebrate, and we would like to share some of our news with you in the hope that you will help us spread the good cheer all the way to the Atlantic Forest!

Indigenous and classical music in harmony

British actor Miriam Margolyes, a favourite among Harry Potter fans, has joined an Indigenous leader and two London orchestras to bring out a stirring new video of a traditional Indigenous song.

With a classical arrangement for strings by London Mozart Players and Orchestra for the Earth, the song carries the story of the challenges faced by the Noke Koi tribe during the rubber boom, and reminds us of the resilience of a culture living in harmony with the environment.

Trees of Music also offers hope for the endangered pernambuco tree, the species used to craft bows for strings. Please tell your friends!

Christmas pernambuco tree!

At a time when overindulgence and over consumption is rife, we can make small contributions that can have a huge positive impact and give something back to the forest that gives us so much, all year round.

For as little as £1.50 people can now donate to help plant pernambuco saplings in Espírito Santo in Brazil. This can make a great gift for someone or contribute to a more sustainable Christmas for you and your family.

Going forward with business partners for a better world

After all the hot air at COP26, it is clearer than ever that we can't wait for governments to address the challenges we face. We have to do it ourselves, and businesses are stepping up to meet the challenge.

RAIN has big plans going into 2022, both for projects in Brazil and connections in the UK. We successfully trialled our business to business services in 2021, and are looking for new partners wanting to make a difference with their social responsibility fund contributions.

Please get in touch if you would like to know more.

How can I help!

  1. Watch and share the Noke Koi orchestra video

  2. Like this on facebook

  3. Plant a seed for £1.50 with our Christmas campaign

Wishing you a marvellously musical Merry Christmas!
